What is the need? College costs
for tuition, room and board continue to spiral upward, outpacing the inflation
rate for the past several years. Today's average annual cost is over $30,000 per
year at a private college and about half that at a public institution. What
is the Trumbull High School Scholarship Foundation? It is
a non-profit organization established in 1984 for the purpose of raising and administering
scholarship funds available to graduates of Trumbull High School. What
is our goal? The goal of the foundation is to increase both
the level of financial assistance and the number of scholarships available to
deserving Trumbull High School Graduates. Where does the
money come from? Funds have been accumulated from the major
donors, the general Trumbull community, and several memorial or recognition contributions.
Several fund-raising activities such as the Great Trumbull Pumpkin Classic Road
Race, Health Walk and Fun Run for Children and Dinner/Theatre evening also provide
funds to scholarships. Most funds have been invested so that the interest may
be used for present and future scholarship assistance. How
are the scholarships awarded? Scholarships are awarded on
the basis of financial need, academic record, and citizenship. How
