Licenses Effective October 1, 2003, blood
tests are no longer required in order to obtain a marriage license. You may apply
for the marriage license in the town in which you are being married, or the town
of residence of either the bride or groom. The
marriage license is valid for 65 days from the date of application. Both
the bride and groom must appear to sign the license and must provide a photo ID
such as a driver's license or passport. If you need to come separately, the last
person to come in will take the license with them. The fee for the marriage license
is $30.00. A certified copy of the
license is available for $10.00 from the town where the marriage was performed.
A certified copy is required for change of name on your social security card and
other purposes. Note: The service
of changing your Social Security Card is FREE. Any questions you have regarding
Social Security please contact the Social Security Administration directly. After
the ceremony is performed, the official performing the ceremony will return the
license to the office of the Town Clerk in the city or town where the marriage
was performed. The Town Clerk's Office will then forward a copy to the town in
which the application was issued. Official performing the ceremony must sign the
license after, and only after, the ceremony has been performed. Please
provide full names (First, Middle, Last) of Bride and Groom and state or foreign
country in which they were born. Also, full names (First, Middle, Last, including
mother's maiden name) of all parents and state or foreign country in which they
were born. Marriage Licenses are
issued Mondays through Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and usually on the
second Saturday of the month from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. - (Please call ahead
to confirm Saturday office hours.) Please allow 1/2 hour to complete the license.
Summer hours are from 9-4:30 for marriage licenses Monday through Friday. Second
Saturday from 9-11 a.m. July will be the third Saturday. Call to make an appointment

Beginning on October 1, 2005 the charge to record a document is $43.00
for page one, and $5.00 for each additional page. Warranty deeds are an additional

license? Marriage licenses are issued through the Town Clerk's office,
any day the office is open up to ½ hour before closing time.

Cost is $30.00 for the license, and $10.00 for the certified
copy. The bride and groom must both appear in person, but not necessarily
together to be sworn. If you are under 16 years of age, consent is needed
from the Judge of Probate. If you are under 18, parental or guardian

The conveyance tax is .025% of the purchase price of the property. How

office, get a Trade Name Application, fill
it out; bring it to the Zoning Enforcement officer in the Planning and Zoning

of my child's birth certificate? Per State Statute copies of birth
certificates are restricted to certain individuals: person who is subject of birth
certificate, parent, grandparent, grandchildren or guardian, if minor; spouse

born, it is filed in the Town Clerk's office. You need to come in, fill out the

I apply for a dog license? How do I renew my dog's license? Come
to the Town Clerk's office, and complete or bring with you already completed this
Dog License Application. Present
a current rabies certificate. Proof of spaying or neutering must be
presented. Pet information needed: name, address, phone, owners name,
type of dog. Yearly fee is $8.00 for an altered dog, or $19.00 for an
unaltered dog. Late renewal charge is $1.00 per month. How
do I obtain a copy of a marriage or death certificate? Request can

needed. Fee is $10.00 for one certified copy. How
